Hi, I’m Sara. I’m an artist and designer based in NYC.

Currently, I

Craft art, brands, and digital products with nice people through Blake Studio.

Proselytize The Rosalyn Letters, my debut novel described by Kirkus as a “riveting, dreamlike…enigmatic but gripping mystery.”

Paint as part of my ongoing analog creative practice.

Sometimes, I

Collaborate on art projects with my architect partner as Studio Nein.

Illustrate under the moniker ZSO. I am represented through Fillin Global for select commercial commissions.

Take pics and write silly haikus about New York City.

Send out an occasional newsletter. Sign up here for updates about new projects and various silly musings.

Previously, I

Led brand design as a founding member of two VC-funded technology product startups. I served as Founding Creative Director for Ethic, a financial technology startup seeking to address key sustainability issues like climate change and human rights through the lens of investing (currently Series C+), and as Founding Design Director for Aterian, a Google Ventures-backed AI-enabled brand incubator (2019 IPO).

Worked as an Art Director for digital advertising agencies designing for many household brand names in the tech and finance space, including IBM, Dell Technologies, and Charles Schwab.

Somehow managed to be invited to speak about my illustration work at a bunch of fun global conferences and events, despite my rather bossy introversion. Thank you for having me.

Studied at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and graduated as an Honors Scholar in 2007 with a concentration in Fine Art and Creative Writing.
